Monthly Image Quota

The quota is the total amount of unprocessed image data you can optimize each month. For example, a 2 GB quota lets you upload and optimize up to 2 GB worth of source images before any overage charges apply. Quota resets at the start of every billing cycle.

Your monthly quota is shared across everything you optimize — whether through the API, the Web Interface, the WordPress plugin, or the Magento extension, it all draws from the same monthly pool.

If you exceed your quota, additional usage is billed at the per-GB overage rate shown on the plan. You can upgrade at any time to get a larger allowance and a lower overage rate.

API Quota

The API quota is the total amount of unprocessed image data you can send to the Kraken.io API each month. It covers programmatic optimization requests from your own applications, WordPress plugin, Magento extension, and any other integrations using your API credentials.

Exceeding the API quota is billed at the per-GB overage rate shown on the plan. Quota resets at the start of every billing cycle.

Kraken.io Web Interface

The Web Interface is the online tool at kraken.io where you can optimize, compress, resize, and convert images directly in your browser — no code required. Just drag and drop your files (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, AVIF, HEIC, PDF) and download the optimized results in seconds.

It supports all the optimization modes available via the API — Lossy, Lossless, and Expert — as well as resizing strategies and format conversion. You can also upload ZIP archives containing multiple images and download the full processed archive when it is done.
